Special Olympics Torch Run Celebrates 30th Anniversary

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics takes place across Windsor-Essex on Thursday.

The torch run is celebrating 30 years in Ontario.

Local police officers, border guards, and corrections officers will run, jog and bike across the area in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special Olympics Ontario.

There are approximately 130 Special Olympic athletes in the Windsor and Essex County area that compete at various events with some competing and winning medals at the international level.

The torch run starts in Leamington at 8am, stops in Windsor at 11:30am and ends in Essex at 2:45pm.
