Constable Kim Harvey has been involved with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the past 11 years, having first started during Police Serving You, a partnership with Boston Pizza. Since then, Harvey has gone on to have many great memories of working alongside Special Olympics athletes.
“Being able to help other people towards a brighter future – it’s the best feeling in the world!” Harvey says. “Seeing the smiles on their faces and being part of helping them do something special is why I have continued to help out.”
Constable Harvey loves the variety of events that she gets to be involved in through the Torch Run. “Each event is something different, and seeing the athletes’ eyes light up when they get to try something new with us – it’s very rewarding watching them grow up over the years and seeing them achieve new dreams.”
When asked her favourite Torch Run Memory, Kim said “I have so many memories that hold a dear spot with me. Working side-by-side with athletes at Cops n’ Cowboys, Cop n’ Rodders and of course dancing with them at the opening ceremonies are some of the highlights!”
Thank you Kim for all that you have done and continue to do for the athletes of Special Olympics Ontario!
