Corrections Week Spotlight: Sue Gadoury

Names: Sue Gadoury
Service/Agency: Monteith Correctional Complex (Former)
Rank/Title: LETR Zone Coordinator
Years with LETR: 20+

Starting with her work at Monteith Correctional Complex, Sue Gadoury now has over 20 years of involvement with LETR. Sue became more active with Torch Run activities in 2010, participating in local and provincial events as well as provincial and international conferences.

Sue's now a Zone Coordinator with LETR, but it all started with an unforgettable first Final Leg experience. “I was able to cheer on some athletes from my tiny northern Ontario hometown as they waved to me while crossing the finish line. From that moment, LETR became part of who I am!”

Since then, she's become connected to a network of like-minded people who she values and sees as inspiration. Representing the passion of Corrections Officers and employees across the province, Sue is proud to be part of an organization that champions acceptance and inclusion, raising funds to support athletes and provide them with opportunities across the province. “LETR fills me with gratitude!  I am thankful for the friendships I’ve formed with my Corrections and law enforcement family.”

Sue says supporting Special Olympics athletes as they develop skills and confidence is what fuels her passion for Torch Run. “Seeing the smiles on the athletes’ faces when they participate in sports and when they see LETR members supporting them fills my heart with joy.”
