James Hope started as a Correctional Officer at the Southwest Detention Centre two years ago, but his involvement with Special Olympics actually started in 2010. Volunteering with LaSalle-Windsor Special Olympics for 10 years, James worked directly with athletes as a coach for various basketball, floor hockey, and track and field teams.
Over the past 15 years, James has volunteered with many Torch Runs and Polar Plunges. He's now the LETR representative for the Southwest Detention Centre. “I am happy that my role in the Southwest Detention Centre allows me to continue to be involved with this amazing organization for years to come.”
