Cops N Rodders Car Show a Huge Success!

In 2013, HPS created an internal Law Enforcement Torch Run Committee, the group wanted to create and organize fun events that would benefit the Special Olympics Ontario. Det Jim Callender and Cst Allen Schultz, both being passionate about the classic and muscle car hobby developed “Cops N Rodders” and held their 1st event in 2014 at a local classic car cruise night on the Hamilton Waterfront raising $495. In 2015, the officers rented Bayfront Park, Hamilton, Ontario on an August weekend and hosted the 1st Annual Cops n Rodders Car Show raising $2,600 with over 250 cars attending. The summer of 2016 came fast and the officers with the support of the LETR Committee held the 2nd Annual Cops N Rodders Car Show raising $4,869 with 408 cars/trucks in attendance. On August 20, 2017 the LETR Committee returned to Bayfront Park and played host to the 3rd Annual Cops N Rodders Car Show, they parked an amazing 528 classic, muscle, hot rod, rat rod, trucks and vans. The owners of these classic and hot rodded vehicles came from all corners of Ontario just to experience the waterfront atmosphere, live bands, food trucks and the friendships made since the inception of Cops N Rodders. This one day event raised a whopping $8,851.78 for 2017.  Each year this car show has raised awareness to the Special Olympics Ontario and it shows how it has impacted the Community both near and far as Cops N Rodders had secured a ‘Title Sponsor’; RPM Magazine – this international car magazine is dedicated to the car hobby, enthusiasts, fans and builders and is circulated in 32 Countries worldwide. On Wednesday November 1st, 2017 the LETR Committee along with RPM Magazine VP Marketing/Customer Relations  Trish Biro and daughter Kristie presented the Law Enforcement Torch Run Ontario Manager – Cody Jansma with a cheque for $8,851.78. A big congratulations goes out to the HPS LETR Committee.

RPM Magazine extends a huge thank you to all of the Committee Members, Supervisors, volunteers, attendees, spectators and vendors who came out, supported and made this show such a huge success!  We look forward to next year’s event.
