The 4 kilometre community run took place May 30th in Shelburne
Almost $20,00 was raised at Shelburne Police's Torch Run for Special Olympics.
Police say this was the sixth year in a row they've hosted a leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario.
The 4 kilometre community run took place on May 30th, but the final tally of the funds raised was just finalized in the past few days.
This year Constable Jeff McLean took over the role of lead organizer of the local event. On top of the run event itself, McLean organized hot dog days at all three elementary schools in Shelburne, and the Toonies for Torches fundraiser at Pete's Deli.
