Pickleball for a Cause is an initiative dedicated to supporting Special Olympics Ontario. All proceeds from the events directly fund opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities, promoting the growth of pickleball while ensuring Special Olympics athletes have access to venues and programs to learn and enjoy the sport.

Pickleball for a Cause is about more than the game. It’s a movement that fosters inclusion, celebrates diversity, and builds connections between people with and without intellectual disabilities. By joining us, you’re helping to reshape the sports community, creating opportunities for Special Olympics athletes to thrive and inspiring a future where everyone can shine. 

How it works


1. REGISTER 

Visit Locations to find a pickleball tournament near you. Pickleball tournaments are being added at new locations regularly, be sure to check back if you can't find an event in your area. Register online for your local pickleball tournament and recruit friends and family to join your team!

2. FUNDRAISE 

Participants will receive their own fundraising page upon registration. Fundraise to win great prizes and support Special Olympics Ontario athletes! 

3. PLAY & ENJOY

This event is open to all levels of players from beginners to the most advanced. Each participant will play in a minimum of four games in a predetermined 90 minute timeslot. Prizes for top fundraisers as well as the opportunity for all participants to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal for the matches will also be awarded.

What is Law Enforcement Torch Run? 

The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run® (LETR) is the largest public awareness vehicle and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. Known honourably as Guardians of the Flame, law enforcement members and Special Olympics athletes carry the “Flame of Hope” into the Opening Ceremony of local competitions and into Special Olympics Provincial, National, Regional and World Games. Worldwide annually, more than 97,000 dedicated and compassionate law enforcement members carry the “Flame of Hope,” symbolizing courage and celebration of diversity uniting communities around the globe.
