SOO Regional Spring Games Torch Run
Start at OPP NWR HQ and carry the torch down James St to Arthur St, then continue down Arthur St to Galaxy Lanes where we will meet up with Special Olympics athletes for their opening ceremonies for bowling for the Regional Spring Games. (Approx. 1 km run)
Meet ‘n greet at the downtown gazebo then a walk together with officers, supporters and local Special Olympics athletes to a business for a wrap up BBQ.
Annual Race for Plunkett
This annual 2 km run begins at the Conservation Park, proceeds north along Centre St., finishing at the Giant Tiger store. Law enforcement personnel from L&A OPP, federal and provincial corrections, Greater Napanee firefighters and EMS, and officers from other local police agencies are joined by approximately 50 local athletes. At the completion of the run, a hotdog BBQ is held for all participants. This annual well is always very well received, and supporting by the local community.

We are starting our run at The Regional Municipality of Durham Building at 605 Rossland Rd East, Whitby.
Meeting time is 10:30-10:45 AM. We will have a short welcome speech and then start the run at 11:00 AM.
We run a short route in Whitby to end up back at 605 Rossland Rd. East which ends with a ceremony with some speeches and pizza for all the runners.
10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Start at Peterborough Police Service and run down George St to King St to Millennium Park. End at road tolls on Water St.
Police officers, athletes, volunteers, family members will be running, biking, rollerblading, in running chairs, riding in cruisers, and a command bus.
The run will start at Waterfront Park in Point Edward, up Michigan Ave, to Colborne, to Berkshire and this will take us to the Sarnia Court House, address 700 N. Christina Street where there will be a BBQ for all who participated.

Walk/run begins at 12:00 noon followed by games & pizza party hosted by Boston Pizza at Chapples Park
Stratford & Area

Runners will gather at the Stratford Police Service offices at 10:30 AM. The run (to the local Boston Pizza) will begin at 11 AM.
This years event will be expanded to include a 5KM timed run, a 10Km timed run and a 1KM kids challenge at the park! If you want to participate, but not be part of the timed events, come on out and join the fun.
Niagara – Badges on the Border
On Tuesday June 18, 2019, join the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Parks Police and Canadian Border Services Agency as we carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope to the middle of the Rainbow Bridge, meeting our American Law Enforcement Brothers and Sisters in support of Special Olympics in Canada and the United States. A small ceremony will take place middle of the bridge before we light the Cauldron joining our Canadian and American Special Olympics Athletes.
All participants can park at the John Street parking lot located at the corner of John Street and Blondin Avenue, Niagara Falls near the Rainbow Bridge. Participants are asked to be at the John Street parking lot by 10:30am. The ceremonial Units from our combined agencies will march to the center of the Rainbow Bridge for the ceremony at 11:00am.
Anyone interested in coming onto the Rainbow Bridge to participate or observe the ceremony must have a Nexus card or a Passport.
A small celebration directly follows this event at the Double Tree Hotel in Niagara Falls, NY.

Join us for a 5k run and a 2k walk, starting and ending at Town Beach off of Wellington Street.
There will be a BBQ following the run/walk, with burgers, hotdogs and pop with all proceeds going to Special Olympics.
